1969 Pontiac GTO 1 of 1 Triple Black1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible Brings $220,000 at St. Charles Muscle Car Auction

Over 900 classic and collector cars were up for auction recently at the Mecum Fall Premier Collector Car Auction.  From Mopars to Cobras, there was something up for auction for every muscle car enthusiast.

The auction's television show, Mecum Auto Auctions Muscle Cars and More, was broadcasted LIVE on Discovery Communication's HD Theatre channel on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the event at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois.
Over 50 vehicles from the personal collections of Walt Hollifield, David and Pauline Haas, and Zeb Morris were sold at no reserve as well as several hundred articles of memorabilia on Sunday morning.  The auction, held inside the Megacenter at Pheasant Run Resort, provided an excellent venue for bidding on cars.
The main attraction of the event Lot S245 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible was the star of the show, bringing a hammer price of $220,000 (not including buyer's premium) around 8pm on Friday, September 17, 2010.
In 1969, Pontiac produced just 108 GTO Judge Convertibles and only one triple black GTO Judge Convertible (documented by the Pontiac Historical Society).
Powered by its original Pontiac 400/366 HP Ram Air III V-8,  this fully documented 4-Speed GTO Judge Convertible was restored using 90% NOS parts and has been driven zero miles since its frame-off resoration. The optional equipment on the car includes a wood rim steering wheel, rallye gauges, hood tach, hideaway headlights, 8-track player, and Redline tires.  This is, without any doubt, a one of a kind muscle car.
