Bad Custom Jobs

Lots of people like the idea of taking a standard car and adding to it to make it better looking, faster, louder, etc. I'm no customization expert (I don't even like it), but I do know that when customizing a car, you've got to be careful not to go overboard because the results can be pretty bad. Here's some proof:

The owner of this PT Cruiser probobly thought of getting a new paint job and then some new wheels. That's quite reasonable. Unfortunately, after the new wheels and paint, he opted for a big, grey dragon head. Not the best choice.

Here's a little Mitsubishi that would struggle to clear many obstacles like cardboard, coins, and leaves.

The Tata Nano is an ugly car. This is a customized Tata Nano. It is also ugly.

Ugly custom jobs are not limited to cheap small cars. Here are some large, expensive cars that are every bit as terrible:

This is a Ferrari Enzo, a car worth over $1,500,000. The owner painted it bright pink. That's like moving into the White House, looking at the carpet and deciding to cover it in lime green rugs. In short, a good thing ruined.

The winner of the "ugliest custom car award" must go to this monstrosity. This car differs from the others because the customization was done by professionals. RUF, the famous German tuner, has redone the Porsche Cayenne. The result is a startling frog-faced terror.

When I see cars like these, I wonder how the owners can get up in the morning, walk out the door, and get in their car without regreting the after-market stuff. I hope they can, but it's pretty hard to imagine.
