O estilo ''bullet nose'' virou a marca do Champion (preto). O vermelho é o Commander .

Para-lamas dianteiros, capô e faróis vinham embutidos num conjunto predominantemente retangular. Atrás havia um terceiro volume, fosse o sedã de duas ou quatro portas ou o conversível. Ainda era possível optar entre as largas colunas traseiras e as três janelas do cupê para três ocupantes ou o criativo Starlight (luz das estrelas), com a janela de trás panorâmica e espaço para cinco. Com frente e traseiras parecidas, dizia-se que o Stude ia e voltava ao mesmo tempo.
A linha de um modelo era subdividida em séries: o Champion tinha 284 cm no entre-eixos; o Commander, 302 e o topo-de-linha Land Cruiser, 312. O motor era um seis-cilindros de 2,8 litros e 80 cv no Champion e 3,7 litros e 94 cv nos demais. Os instrumentos do painel emitiam ''luz negra'', tecnologia de iluminação dos aviões de guerra. O destaque técnico eram os pioneiros freios autoajustáveis (se adaptavam ao desgaste) e, entre os acessórios, um sistema que evitava que o carro recuasse na saída em ladeiras.

Assim que o motorista tira o pé do freio, a ignição é acionada. Esse liga-desliga proporciona, segundo a marca, uma economia de até 20%. A versão, mais simples, perde equipamentos. Em compensação, o preço é 16% menor: R$ 51.500

Após melhorias no acabamento em 1973, o SE ganhou freios dianteiros a disco na linha 1974. Capô e traseira não eram mais negros, as faixas laterais ficaram duplas e mais curtas e o estofamento combinava com a pintura. Porém, após 4.107 unidades, o SE foi cancelado em 1975. O paulista João Carlos Bassetto é o único do exemplar 1973. Ele já saiu da revenda com uma capa de napa nos bancos que preservou o revestimento xadrez. Foi restaurado em 2003 sob supervisão do filho Daniel. ''Meu pai foi me buscar com ele na maternidade, eu ia para a escola nele'', afirma o analista de sistemas. Após quase quatro décadas, o SE, assim como o irmão rico, o Charger R/T, continua provocando emoções.

There's nothing much to update for July's edition of Ford Telstar 2.0i4 Ghia. This month, I only clocked 668kms. The only thing worth blogging is the NEW V-power 97.

The New V-power 97 makes my Telstar slightly more responsive with 10% improve in fuel efficiency. BUT Bad news, Petrol hike on 15 July 2010 stipulates that RON97 fuel's subject to FLOATING Mechanism.

Entre as perdas, não havia esguicho no limpador nem desembaçador e faziam falta o retorno automático dos piscas e as luzes de cortesia. Já o V8 era o mesmo dos demais Dart, com seus impressionantes 198cv e 41,5 mkgf. Porém faltava eficiência nos freios a tambor, o SE pulsava bastante em altas velocidades e a desmultiplicação da direção dava canseira com suas 6,5 voltas. A qualidade dos materiais, vedação e pintura eram outra queixa. ''Os que quiserem o automóvel de série mais forte e mais veloz do nosso mercado sem ter de pagar demais, o Special Edition será a compra ideal''.

No V8, 198 cv falavam grosso.

Embora o Charger tenha ficado na memória como o Dodge mais esportivo, não foi o único. Em 1972 surgiu uma opção mais simples e voltada ao público jovem que buscava desempenho sem se importar com detalhes de acabamento. Era o Dart Special Edition, ou SE, como ficou conhecido. Custava 4.000 cruzeiros (10.050 reais hoje) menos que um Dart cupê, e quase 19.000 cruzeiros (47.740 reais) mais barato que o R/T.
O SE contrariava a prática da época de versões simplificadas aparentarem pobreza se comparadas às superiores. Grade, capô e a parte da traseira entre as lanternas eram pintados de preto fosco, que contrastava com as cores vivas disponíveis. Só os para-choques eram cromados. Rodas prateadas sem calota e faixa adesiva nas laterais salientavam sua esportividade. O volante era do tipo competição e os bancos, revestidos por tecido xadrez. Os dianteiros eram mais anatômicos e tinham encosto mais alto. O câmbio vinha no assoalho. Em vez de um ''pé de boi'', o dono levava um cupêao estilo dos muscle cars americanos.

honda civic recalls color white has recalled its 2001 model year Accord and Civic due to excessively pressurized airbags. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that certain airbags in the affected vehicles can deploy so violently that the inflator will rupture. Owners of 2001 Accords and Civics will be able to bring in their car to the local honda civic recalls color white store where the inflator will be replaced for free of charge.

Opção ao caro Charger R/T, o Dart SE economizava nos detalhes para entregar desempenho por atacado.

Ainda que você não seja afeito a esoterismos, há de concordar que a menção de duas consoantes é capaz de alterar a pressão arterial de um grupo de quarentões e cinquentões. Basta um R seguido de um T para que a mente deles seja banhada por grandes e vistosos carros de cor alaranjada acompanhados do sonoro borbulhar de seus V8... Um sorriso cúmplice entre os presentes não deixará dúvida quanto ao significado do R/T, Charger R/T, esportivo dos mais desejados, potentes e caros do Brasil, um ícone dos anos 60 e 70.
