In this blog entry, I'll be blogging about Volvo Roadshow @ Highstreet, 1 Utama. I was there yesterday 9.50pm. There's 2 auto roadshow at the same time. The other being Mitsubishi Roadshow (see next post).

Interestingly, Volvo adopts 20,000 OR 1 year service intervals on ALL MODELS. Star of the show is the New S60 CKD. The T4 and T5. Both the t4 and t5 comes with World's 1st "Collision warning with FULL AUTO BRAKE and Pedestrian Detection", BLIS (Blind Spot Information System and 3 years/100000km warranty.

The T4 is a 1.6 Turbo mated with 6 speed Powershift with geartronic (Volvo's own DSG) and produces 180hp@5700rpm and 240Nm of torque from 1600-5000rpm. It boasts an impressive averaged FC of 7.4l/100km and goes from 0-100km/h in 9.0secs and tops 225km/h. The Price: RM220,000 w/o insurance earning the title "MOST EXPENSIVE 1.6 car". The BONUS: Road tax/annum only RM90.

The T5 is a 2.0 turbocharged also mated with 6 speed Powershoft with Geartronic and produces 240hp@5500rpm and 320Nm@1800-5000rpm. It goes from 0-100km/h in 7.5secs and tops 230km/h. Combined FC: 8.3l/100km.

Besides the S60, there's Volvo XC60, XC90, S40 and S80 on display. My favourite: The impressive XC90 D5 Diesel.

Powered by 5 cylinders 2.4 Turbo mated with 6 speed Auto with Geartronic and boasts combined FC of 8.5l/100km. It produces 185hp@4000rpm and a whooping 400Nm@2000-2750rpm.

Price: RM355,000 which is kinda "reasonable" for a FULL SIZE 7 seater (yup, I can fit in the 3rd row). Note that it's closest competitors: Land Rover Discovery TD6 costs RM488,000 and BMW X5 Diesel costs RM530,000. Audi Q7 3.0 Diesel: RM570,000.

RECALL PARA VOLVO S60 E XC60

A Volvo anuncia um recall que envolve 106 unidades do S60 e XC60. Este recall irá verificar se um anel de vedação da linha de combustível foi colocado durante a montagem do veículo. Alguns carros podem apresentar a falta deste componente que pode ocasionar no vazamento de combustível em temperaturas abaixo de zero.

Os veículos convocados (veja os chassis abaixo) deverão comparecer nas concessionárias Volvo para verificação e possível troca do componente gratuitamente. O recall tem prazo indeterminado. Para mais informações a marca disponibiliza o telefone 0800-707-7590 ou o site Volvo.

VOLVO XC60 ESTREIA VERSÕES MAIS BARATAS COM MOTOR 2.0 TURBO

A linha Volvo do XC60 comercializada no Brasil ganhou nova opção de motorização: T5 2.0 litros turbo (a gasolina) de 240 cavalos de potência e 32,6 kgfm de torque. Antes o modelo contava somente com o motor 3.0 litros turbo de seis cilindros que recentemente teve a potência aumentada de 285 para 304 cavalos.

O novo XC60 vai estar disponível em duas versões de acabamento e itens opcionais, a Comfort de R$ 119.900 e a Dynamic de R$ 136.900. O modelo tem tração dianteira e transmissão automática Powershift de seis marchas.

O carro da Volvo mais vendido no Brasil vem com computador de bordo, tela de navegação de 5 polegadas, controle de áudio no volante, sistema multimídia com oito alto-falantes, sistema de viva-voz por Bluetooth, entrada auxiliar e USB/iPod.

A versão Dynamic do XC60 T5 é a mais completa. Vem com teto solar panorâmico, sensor de chuva e estacionamento, volante e bancos revestidos em couro, sistema de regulagem e aquecimento nos bancos, detalhes do acabamento e rodas Merac de 18 polegadas em alumínio.

Volvo C30 was first shown in Detroit show of the 2006th Since its debut, the car enthusiasts were interested in Volvo's smallest car. 2011 Volvo C30 BEV

Volvo presented a driveable prototype electric car in September 2009. Volvo C30 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) is now being shown at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit companies to take one further step in the development process. Both feature a full interior and full instrumentation, as well as improved battery packs.

"The first prototype to help us identify the main technological challenges, such as battery packs and safety issues. VOLVO C30 BLACK DESIGN: VERSÃO EXCLUSIVA PARA ITÁLIA

Destinado ao público jovem e claramente inspirado no mundo das competições automobilísticas, esta nova versão do compacto da Volvo foi feita sob para o mercado italiano e tem como principal concorrente, o Lancia Delta Hard Black.

O Volvo C30 Black Design nasceu por iniciativa do braço da montadora na Itália, em colaboração com a Eidon, empresa local que se dedica à produção de séries especiais, e a Berman, uma empresa especializada em componentes automotivos. O carro é a resposta da Volvo a uma tendência automotiva italiana: a produção de carros inspirados no esporte.

VOLVO S60 RECEBE NOTA MÁXIMA EM CRASH TEST NOS EUA

O sedã S60 da Volvo recebeu nota máxima em todos os testes de impacto realizados pelo IIHS (Insurance Institute Highway Safety) nos Estados Unidos e levou o título de IIHS Top Safety Pick, que coroa o veículo com os melhores resultados como o mais seguro. Entre os testes realizados, estão o impacto frontal, lateral, capotagem e o impacto traseiro. Para concorrer aos Top Safety Pick, os carros devem ter de série sistema de controle de estabilidade.

De acordo com o IIHS, a geração anterior do modelo apresentou bons resultados nos testes de impactos frontal e traseiro, mas teve resultados apenas aceitáveis nos impactos laterais. Em compensação, o S60 2012 teve que enfrentar um novo teste de resistência do teto que não havia anteriormente e os resultados mostraram que o teto do sedã suportor até 4,95 vezes o peso do veículo, nos Estados Unidos, a medida de referência para o teto é de força equivalente a 1.5 vezes o peso do automóvel.
